Keilor Community Hub

Overview

The project involved the conversion of the existing municipal office building in Keilor to a new public library and commercial office space.

The building was previously being used as a council offices for Brimbank City Council which was publically accessible for municipal purposes.  The council vacated to move into their new offices facilities in Sunshine.  The council segmented the building into two which had a new community library on one side and a commercial office tenancy on the other side.  The community library included computer training and meeting rooms, art rooms, staff workrooms, customer service centre, foyer and open library space.

As part of the project, we then returned the other side of the building to a base building for a commercial office tenant.  The Department of Education and Training then became the commercial tenant which Rudds Consulting Engineers provided the fitout for.
