H E Parker Multi Sports Complex
Overview
The HE Parker Multi Sports Complex will be a new purpose built highball facility for the City of Maroondah.
Broadly, the facility will include 4No. indoor multi-purpose courts with the capability of converting two courts into a show court with seating to accommodate at least 500 speactators, 4No. outdoor multi-purpose courts, unisex change rooms and umpire facilities, and other associated support facilities to host sub-regional competitions
The proposed facility will also include office space for sporting associations, multi-purpose community rooms and dedicated gym and fitness spaces with direct access to change rooms.
Grandstand seating will accommodate 310 people and will be supplemented with courtside seating for an additional 360 people within the venue. The complex will continue to be home to Melbourne East Netball Association (MENA) and will be home to the Ariels, for training and competition as well as social activities.
The complex will also provide for the Croydon & Districts Volleyball Association for formal training and competition. School groups, community groups, and disability groups will also use the venue throughout the year.
Features
Mechanical Services: VRF heat recovery air conditioning system to serve the cafe, gymnasium, offices and common areas. Heat recovery ventilator is used to temper outside air with amenities exhaust. Packaged roof top units with energy reclaim is used to serve the indoor courts.
A building automatic control system is used to monitor and operate all mechanical equipment.
Fire Protection and Hydraulics Services: The project has been provided with 4-hour fire services on-site water storage tanks (216,000L effective capacity each) catering for three fire hydrants operating simultaneously over four hours, incorporating two fire pumps and fire suction and fire booster assembly for the whole site.
Electrical Services: Sports lighting both internally and externally to competition conditions.
