Additionally, we also recognise that a finely monitored and tuned building can also be a cost effective way to significantly reduce a building’s impact on the environment which we have demonstrated through our Rudds Environmental department.

Rudds acknowledge that as a consulting company, maintaining good relationships contractors, utilities, regulatory bodies and competition are an important part of achieving the best results on a project. We have been able to benefit from maintaining excellent relationships and this is demonstrated by being involved in:

  • Designing the first building in Australia to achieve a 5 star Green Star as-built rating in 2004 and many other since then.
  • The last minute integration of a trigeneration system at Santos House in Brisbane. Rudds were not involved in the original design but were asked to provide specialist expertise to ensure that the building would achieve a 6 star Greenstar rating.
  • The building services design of 50 Marcus Clarke St which achieved a 6 star Greenstar v2 Office Design rating, a fantastic achievement given the intention was only to gain 5 stars.

Rudds believe very strongly about investing back into the community to nurture our future engineering leaders. This is achieved by providing sponsorship money and leadership into:

  • Elite Racing Team Award Winners in the “F1 in Schools" competition 2008.
  • Red Bull Flutag competition
  • Providing industry knowledge through guest lectures at the University of Canberra.
